Maritime Security, Maritime Advisory Yemen

The multi-national naval partnership "Combined Maritime Forces" (CMF) has recently published a recommendation for vessels transiting the Southern Red Sea and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait based on the volatile security situation in the waters, as recent incidents in the Red Sea, like the attack on MT Muskie (IMO 9256638) in May this year, are likely not related to Somali based piracy rather than affiliates of the Yemen based Houthi-rebels.

The maritime industry is therefore advised to monitor the further security developments especially around the port of Hodeida.
